Organization for Creatives Using Trello
Organization for Creatives Using Trello Michelle Nickolaisen asked me recently if Id be interested in her writing something for my readers about a productivity related post, or like, how to get organized it not suck, or something. Since thats something that I know is a huuuuuuge challenge for my clients and creatives in general (which Im so glad is being tackled by so many amazeballs people did ya see this post from Laura Simms?), I said Yes please! and A series would rock! Michelle wanted to start by introducing you to her favorite productivity platform. Enjoy the video and this amazeballs tool! One of the things creatives are famous for is being disorganized. Its sort of a running joke but we all know that being disorganized can also be a huge pain in the butt. However! Most of the time creatives are disorganized because of things that are totally avoidable like not having easy to use tools to help em out of the disorganization. One of my favorite tools for doing just that is Trello, but I know it can be intimidating without some introduction so I made the video below to show you some of my favorite ways to use it! Michelle is a writer + project wrangler who lives in Austin with her husband, two cats named after Buffy characters, and her Shiba Inu. She writes about taking your work + business to new heights at Letâs Radiate about fulfilling your potential at Bombchelle. The requirements of the post are different for each state and therefore needs to be written for each state as well. If you live in a state that doesn't have an area of interest like a vet, or a groom for example, this article will provide you with tips on how to write a resume for veterinary/grooming in the states that don't have a profession like that. You don't want to leave out any pertinent information about you that you consider relevant. For people with this career you want to make sure that you can represent yourself as a person who loves animals and can work well with others.Make sure that you also include your educational background. This could be in high school or even colle ge. You should also have information about any certifications that you may have. Be sure to list any volunteers, volunteerism and work experience you may have. This could include anything from community service to writing articles for magazines and newspapers. You also want to make sure that you have information about the area of veterinary medicine you are interested in. For example, you could write a very good job description that is in line with the role you are applying for. If you are an assistant veterinarian or have a specialty in cosmetic surgery, then you want to have some type of information about those areas. In todayâs world of work - hard work, being a team player, and adhering to basic professional standards are baseline expectations of all employees. Promotion, recognition, and reward more often land on professionals who have learned how to maximize their exposure to the right people and the right opportunities. How To Increase Your Visibility At Work Increasing your visibility at work isnât about kissing up or brown nosing â" itâs about positioning yourself in the right place to make your next best career move. Savvy professionals take the initiative to be relevant, contribute, and make sure their efforts are visible to people of influence within their industry and organization. Here are six ways to increase your visibility at work: 1. Volunteer For Special Projects Unless you are in a very small company, thereâs a wealth of action taking place outside of your desk, cube, department, and floor. And, chances are, the people making decisions arenât sitting right across from you. Looking for special projects you can be a part of is a great way to get your name, skills, ideas, and performance in front of people who can help you make vertical and horizontal career moves. 2. Share Information With People Outside Of Your Normal Network While your primary responsibilities may be in IT, spend some time browsing trends and insights in other areas. Pass a quick message onto someone outside your normal connections to start building new relationships and increasing your exposure. 3. Start A Group Chances are there are other ambitious professionals looking to connect within your organization. If there are no existing opportunities to connect through something like a book club or community service project, create one. This gives you a chance to practice and demonstrate leadership skills as well as build new relationships. 6. Is a Part-Time Job a Career Opportunity or Means to an End
Is a Part-Time Job a Career Opportunity or Means to an EndA part-time job means everything to a college student, as a steady source of income could ease the financial burden. It doesnt matter if its a meager amount, as any sum is better than none at all. A professional doesnt see the saatkorn thing, as a part-time job can be seen as a conflict to the primary job. The same professional may have other needs, which the first job couldnt provide. Dilemma comes sooner or later. Is a part-time job a career opportunity? Is it a means to an end? Its bedrngnis a Catch-22 situation, as some suspect at first. It depends on a number of variables. The previous illustration would show that different people from different ages dont have the same view of a certain situation. Circumstances also play a part (if a part-time job is a lifesaver or notlage). The nature of the job could be a factor. If a student does well, then it could turn into a full-time job. A professional may end up in a crossroad, th ough. How to Handle a Part-Time JobDiscuss your schedule with your boss.Dont let the thought of having more money blindsided by the reason that you have a part-time job. If youre a student, then youre aware that the coursework is your top priority. You need that job because you want to make your CV more attractive to recruiters. There are other students who are rather honest about their motives, as they often spend their allowance on pizza and beer. Your boss might give you a leeway, which can prevent you from stressing out sooner or later. Its not the same thing with a professional, though. Theres a certain risk, as the primary job could suffer if not handle well. Furthermore, theres a dilemma of disclosing it. Most bosses would see a conflict of interest. If they havent noticed it, then your actions would be a give away.Keep an eye on the red signs.A conflict will arise sooner or later. It happens to everyone, so you must not deny (or hide) it. Stress will be the first sign. A chan ge of attitude is the next sign followed by how your family and friends react to it. Health will be next. You dont want the last one to happen to you, as this could affect your performance in school (or office). It could have serious consequences in the workplace. (Think of termination.) When you notice these signs, the first thing to do is to take a break. You may want to sleep it off. (An exhausted mind wouldnt be able to make a sound decision.) If youve been working hard, then you deserve a holiday far and away. Deal with it right away.Despair is a fools response, so dont complain about the discomfort. No one forces you to look for a part-time job, not even doing it. You want it, as youre fully aware that this set-up can solve your financial problems. (Some professionals rather look at it as career growth.) Let go of the (part-time) job if having too many things to do is affecting you. On the other hand, learn to handle the difficulties that arise sooner. What happens if this turn s out to be your first job? Theres a reason for celebration, as this would be a case of good luck. Its the same sentiment if youre a professional who is exploring other options. You dont need to fear about the possibility of going back to square one.Whats Next For YouLets assume that you know the policies regarding the conflict of interest that happens when your two jobs clash at some point. If you really love your part-time job, then you must be toying with the idea that you would resign from your main job. You may not be able to perceive if your decision is right or wrong, but it doesnt have to end that way. Discuss the situation with your tutor (or employer). Dont be surprised if there would be a sympathetic ear. Theres nothing wrong about requesting for an extension, as you want to receive your diploma on time.Having two jobs could be stretched you too far, but you sense a light at the end of the tunnel. What happens if it turns out differently? Its not a total waste of time and effort. For one, you have earned something from it. You can also charge it to experience (whether you agree or not). Age is not a factor here, as you are the one who can decide on how you want your career to turn into.If you want to hold on your part-time job, then its been understood that youre not thinking of other options. You dont have to think a lot (during your final days in college) while you wish nothing but the best for your soon-to-be ex-colleagues. It could be a start of a new cycle. Dont be surprised if you would think of another part-time job along the way. A crystal ball is unavailable, though. Read all news
